Aklan Tour

We received the itinerary and cost for the post-symposium visit to Aklan (the Iloilo trip was rerouted to better focus on pina and abaca weaving, as well as avoid the drive between Kalibo and Iloilo on roads rendered seriously difficult because of recent typhoons). The visit will take us to see a piña village and plantation, the process of dyeing in a local college, Kalibo’s best crafts stores, a mangrove project, and a nice welcome by Aklan’s Vice-Governor, an advocate of natural  textiles and fibers. The visit will offer us first-hand experience of the realities of our best piña weavers and dyers in the country. We hope you can circulate this itinerary to your friends.

Please contact Ms. Grace Roldan before January 23 to avail of the reserved seats and the the special price of U$ 365. Please cc a copy of your correspondence to Ms. Mae de Leon (maedeleon@museumfoundationph.org) and Mrs. Maribel Ongpin just so they are updated. Grace contact details are:
